The Clock is Ticking

Make every minute count....the clock is ticking. This is my collage project from my Artful Women group on Friday. We chose a photograph of a bird and used other collage materials and paint to create a bird medallion. Each month this group of women inspire and challenge me with their knowledge of materials and techniques and their ability to stimulate creative thought.

  1. Enjoy the post...it's succinct and clear...however I'm not clear about the title...am I missing something?
Is there a reference it the clock is ticking and the art that's pictured???

  2. Yes. The clock is ticking is a reference to the title of my blog and to the collage as both are about the fleeting of time and living in the moment. As I get older, I am more cognizant of time or the lack of it and am making a conscious effort to be more aware of each moment of life on this beautiful and bountiful earth. The raven is always tap, tap, tapping at the window.

  3. ahhhh...that's helpful. I don't think many of us actually keep a blog name in our minds as we're reading a current post.

Now I can return to the piece and feel more connection and gain a deeper level of entry.

Imagine that you're reader is looking forward to you giving them as much information as you can...maybe even tell us specificallyy that the piece relates to the title of the blog...then we'll turn our eyes there and drink it in and consider its meaning anew.

You might also consider addressing this idea, of the fleeting nature of time, in a series of posts with some good links to help us become more aware of how you're approaching this topic.

  4. I am trying to make all of my posts relate to the title of my blog. I thought that was what the title was for but guess most bloggers do not actually do that. My blog is about what I am thinking, feeling, seeing, experienceing at any given moment...not taking life for granted, but really being in and experiencing each moment. So much of my life has been spent thinking and planning for the next hour, the next day, or the next week...that's what teachers do.....so, now, I want to just be in the moment and I'm working on it.
Also, I will try to make some links for the next post. In my comment, I was referring to Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven when I wrote the raven is always tap, tap, tapping at the window. If I added that to a post, should I make a link to the poem. I am not sure what is proper or legal to add as a link. I guess if it is on the internet, one can make a link to it.???

  5. This comment would make a great post ;-)
It says so much about what you are asking the reader to share with you.

Adding links is giving credit...no need to do anything more unless you would be inserting another artist's image or quote...then you would need to get their permission to post their work or at the very least insert a link to their work and give them credit and thanks.
